Blog Changes and Poker Action

I am attempting to become more persistent with updating my posts, as it really serves as a way for me to put my thoughts out there in an organized way. I have about 3 blogs right now with this one being the one I update the most, so what I am going to do is consolidate all my blogs into one, to make things easier on myself LOL. Eventually all of this will be easily found from the website I am working on, but who know when that will be finished.

I have picked up my poker play lately, with a ton of things going on in my life I have made a hard effort to carve out time to play. One thing that helps this is the fact that a lot of the T.V. shows I watch are reaching their season finales, so I have more time to play poker now. I am attempting to qualify for the $1500 WSOP event through Full Tilt again this year, last year I was only able to play in a handful of tournaments this year I hope to qualify early and have my buy-in well before June rolls around. I have played in a few SNG tournaments the past few days with decent results, Full Tilt has SNG 's that have a variety of field sizes, so it is really easy to pick you poison. I played in a 45 person SNG where the top 6 get paid and of course I came in 7th, I was happy with my play I re-raised a guy pre-flop without much of a hand in an attempt to re-steal and it worked, he folded and I took down a very large pot. But I bubbled because of an error in judgment if I would have taken an extra few seconds to think about it I wouldn't have called, but I ended up in a three way pot with a susceptible hand and that's what did me in. I then played two single table SNG's and I bubbled in one and placed 2nd in the other one, I should have cashed in both, but the chip leader decided to call my pre-flop all in with Pocket 2's vs. my Ace King suited and they held. I have no clue why he would risk his chips there as he would have been in 4th place had he lost to me, but who knows why people make the decisions they do.

That's all for now, I will hopefully write another update soon with good news of me winning a seat to the WSOP.

Hand of Note:

This hand of note illustrates the bridge that you cross that enables you to cash in a SNG or be put in a position where you get blinded out. It also shows that people just can't get away from top pair with a good kicker, in most cases it's a decent hand but it is very susceptible to being beaten, as this hand will show. I got lucky and turned a nothing hand into a huge pot which propelled me to cashing.
